Stacey Solomon was left emotional as she revealed how her four-year-old daughter Rose may be following in her footsteps by taking part in a singing competition. The singer-turned-presenter shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009, finishing third behind runner-up Olly Murs and winner Joe McElderry. She later won I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2010 and now appears on Loose Women and fronts her own BBC show Sort Your Life Out.
Rose's First Singing Competition
On Sunday, June 21, Stacey took to Instagram to share that Rose had participated in her first-ever singing competition ahead of Father's Day celebrations with Joe Swash. Alongside a photo of Rose in a red dress with white collar and belt detailing, Stacey wrote on her Instagram Story: "Rose had her first ever singing competition this morning. She begged me to get her into a competition so she could win a medal. I wasn't sure, but watching her today omg. It was emotional..."
Gold Medal Success
Later, Stacey revealed the outcome with pictures of Rose beaming with her medal. The mum-of-five wrote: "Rose Gold. We are so proud of you Rose. Today, Rose had her first-ever singing competition & sang her little heart out. I was so nervous for her. When she first asked to be entered with her friends I wasn’t sure I thought it would be too scary. But she got up there & sang her little heart out and came home with a gold medal. Can’t wait to watch you fall in love with singing more & more Rosey Posey, it’s so good for the soul. To the moon and back darling girl."
Stacey's Stage Fright
Earlier this year, Stacey was asked if she would return to singing. Speaking on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, she said: "No way! The anxiety I used to get every Saturday night. My mouth would go so dry... I've got the shivers just thinking about it! My mouth would go like sand, and my lips would turn inside out and I can honestly say, I don't know if it was trauma or what, but I don't remember the performances. I would completely black out, come back off [stage] and say, 'I don't even remember what I just did! Did I get the words right? Did I sing in tune?' That's how nervous I was and I don't think I can put myself through that again."
