Ruth Langsford has shut down rumours of a backstage feud on Loose Women, insisting that while the panel have 'heated discussions', they share mutual respect. The ITV daytime show faced rift speculation earlier this year, with claims that some presenters refused to work with Coleen Nolan after her agent called Nadia Sawalha a 'nasty witch' on Twitter.
Speaking on Lorraine, Langsford said: 'We have some heated discussions, but we don't fall out. Somehow people just love to pit women against women. We do disagree about things, but then five minutes later we laugh and talk about something else.' She added that the diverse group often changes each other's minds during debates.
New panellist Frankie Bridge admitted she was apprehensive about joining amid the rumours but said she has never experienced any tension. 'Even during a heated debate, during the break everyone's fine,' she told Fabulous magazine. 'I get on really well with Coleen.'
A spokesperson for the show reiterated that reports of hosts refusing to work with Nolan are 'untrue', stating that panellists are chosen by the editor and production team, not by the presenters themselves.
