Sharon Stone dazzles in gold suit at Cannes charity gala

Sharon Stone turned heads in a striking metallic gold-and-silver blazer and matching wide-legged trousers at the Knights of Charity gala on May 20, during the 79th Cannes Film Festival. The 68-year-old actress's ensemble featured sheer detailing that caught the light under photographers' flashes, layered over a simple black blouse and paired with open-toe pumps. She accessorised with a layered beaded necklace and diamond stud earrings, styling her hair in a wavy bob with a side parting and opting for a bronze eye and glossy lip.

The gold suit marked a departure from the black taffeta gown she wore to the Diamond screening on May 19, which included a large bow on the bodice and an oversized cape. Earlier in the festival, Stone wore a strapless gown from London label Miss Sohee's 2026 couture collection, featuring a corseted bodice, lavender floral embroidery, crystal embellishments, and black sequin sides, paired with a black cape adorned with crystal and floral motifs.

Stone has been associated with gold since her iconic role in Martin Scorsese's 1995 film Casino, where her character Ginger wore a nude bodycon dress with gold embroidery and metal sequins. She recalled to Vogue that the dress was 'miserable to wear but also very exciting' due to its weight and the sharp vintage sequins.

Her appearance came after announcing the death of her eldest brother, Michael Stone, following an extended illness. In a social media post, she wrote: 'Mike Stone. My oldest brother has passed away. Following an extended illness. We wish him peace,' signing it with her sons' names. Stone is the second of four siblings, with Michael as the oldest, followed by brother Patrick and sister Kelly.
