Sharon Osbourne Splits Time Between UK and US After Ozzy's Death

Sharon Osbourne has made the emotionally difficult decision to become a part-time resident of the United States following the tragic death of her legendary husband, Ozzy Osbourne. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away from heart failure on July 22, merely two weeks after performing a poignant farewell concert with his bandmates at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham.

Final Resting Place and Family Dynamics

Ozzy has been laid to rest in the private grounds of Welders House, the Grade II listed property originally acquired by the couple in 1993, just prior to their relocation to Los Angeles. While his burial site is in Buckinghamshire, the couple's three children—Aimee, Jack, and Kelly—along with their five grandchildren have all returned to their respective homes in Los Angeles.

After spending the Christmas holidays in Los Angeles with her family, Sharon, aged 72, has now opted to split her time evenly between her UK residence and a new apartment in Los Angeles. According to reports from The Sun, she plans to spend "half the year at least" on the West Coast of the United States.

A Potential Permanent Move

Insiders suggest this arrangement could evolve into a permanent relocation. One source indicated that Sharon is expected to "probably just spend most of her time in the US again within a couple of years." Her deep connection to her grandchildren—Jack's daughters Pearl, Andy Rose, Minnie Theodora, and Maple Artemis, as well as Kelly's son Sidney—fuels her desire to be more involved in their daily lives.

Sharon boasts an extensive network in Los Angeles, where she and Ozzy resided for two decades. She gained fame working alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh on the now-defunct ITV programme, The X Factor. Additionally, the family's hit reality series, The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005, was primarily filmed at their Beverly Hills home in the prestigious Hancock Park neighbourhood.

Ozzy's Final Wishes and Home Preparations

Despite their long tenure in America, Ozzy, who hailed from Aston, Birmingham, always expressed a wish to return to England for his final days. As his health declined, the couple listed their US property for $18 million and initiated significant renovations to their UK home to accommodate his increasing care needs.

These extensive modifications included plans for a "rehabilitation wing" to aid Ozzy in relearning to walk, an extension for a nurse's flat to ensure round-the-clock care, and a "health and welfare exercise studio." The renovation also featured an "art studio room" and a "pool house orangery" complete with a spa, wet room, and changing area.

To guarantee Ozzy's privacy during his recovery, a 2.4-meter-high fence was installed to shield the property from onlookers, and the CCTV surveillance system monitoring the grounds was upgraded.

Unfulfilled Plans and Final Concert

The couple had intended to return to the UK in 2024, working on a ten-part reality series titled Home to Roost, which would document their homecoming. However, Ozzy's deteriorating health prevented this timeline, leading them to return earlier in the summer of last year.

This earlier return allowed Ozzy to participate in his final Black Sabbath reunion concert at Aston Villa's Villa Park stadium in Birmingham. There, he was joined on stage by original band members Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler, and Bill Ward. Tragically, just weeks later, on July 22, he succumbed to a heart attack at home at the age of 76.
