Scotland's World Cup squad found a silver lining after their narrow defeat to Morocco on Friday evening, as many players celebrated Father's Day with their families on Sunday, June 21. The team is now preparing to face Brazil in Miami on Wednesday, June 24.
Craig Gordon's family reunion
Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon spent a brief Father's Day morning with his children before rejoining the squad. His wife, Summer, posted a photo on Instagram showing Gordon surrounded by his kids as he opened cards and sweets. Their eldest son was seen covering his mouth in excitement. Summer captioned the image: "A quick early Father's Day morning before saying bye again." The couple recently welcomed their third son, Archer, just eight weeks ago. Summer and the boys had flown to Boston to support Gordon during the tournament.
Jack Hendry's tribute
Defender Jack Hendry also marked the occasion, with his wife Robyn Emma Keen sharing adorable snaps of him with their one-year-old son, Archie. One photo showed Hendry holding Archie and a football at Hampden Stadium, both wearing matching Scotland tops. Archie's jersey had the number 13 with "Daddy" on the back. Robyn also shared a video of Hendry playing football with his son on the Hampden pitch.
Other players' family moments
After Scotland's win against Haiti the previous weekend, players reunited with their children at Boston Stadium. Captain Andy Robertson was seen embracing his wife Rachel Roberts and their young children in a group hug. John McGinn also celebrated with his niece and other family members in heartwarming scenes.
World Cup hopes alive
Despite Friday's loss to Morocco, Scotland can still make history by qualifying for the knockout stages. Their crucial match against Brazil will take place at Miami Stadium on Wednesday, June 24, kicking off at 11pm BST.
