Roy Keane's WAG Rant Leaves Neville and Wright in Hysterics

Roy Keane has unleashed a fiery rant about England WAGs wearing shirts with their partners' surnames during the World Cup, leaving Gary Neville and Ian Wright in stitches on The Overlap podcast.

Keane's Criticism of WAG Behaviour

The former Republic of Ireland international took aim at the wives and girlfriends of England players for donning Three Lions jerseys with their partner's name on the back during the 4-2 win over Croatia. Keane, in the United States for punditry, was particularly irked by Jude Bellingham's girlfriend Ashlyn Castro sporting such a shirt.

When asked by Neville what he would consign to Room 101, Keane replied: "Oh, the jersey? The World Cup, when all the players' wives and families are going to the match, all the wives are in the jerseys with the players' names on the back, wow."

Wright Defends WAGs

Co-host Ian Wright defended the WAGs, saying: "I don't mind that." But Keane retorted: "You not with me on that? A year later they are separated, most of them. And they're all getting pictures, and they're pointing at a Jimmy or Johnny on the back, wow. We know who you are married to."

His remark sent Wright and Neville into hysterics. Keane continued: "Children is fine, the partners is ridiculous. All sitting in the same family section, I've got my jersey, have you got yours? I'm not having it."

Wright's Counterargument

Wright responded: "Her husband is playing and she's proud of him and she wants to wear his shirt it seems as simple as that." But Keane remained unconvinced: "They only do it at the World Cup, you don't see it at Old Trafford or Anfield every week. So what's with the World Cup? Imagine a woman going, 'I'm going to put a football jersey on today with my husband's name on the back.'"

Harry Kane, Bellingham, and Jordan Pickford were seen with their WAGs after the Croatia victory. Thomas Tuchel has allowed WAGs into England's training headquarters, a departure from Gareth Southgate's policy.
