Rod Stewart, the 81-year-old Scottish rock star, was given oxygen on stage after nearly fainting during a concert in West Valley City, Utah, on June 19. The incident occurred at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, where Stewart was performing as part of his US tour.
Incident Details
According to TMZ, crew members brought out an oxygen tank after Stewart doubled over. In a video shared online, Stewart could be seen leaning against musical instruments, barriers, and a pole at the side of the stage, visibly struggling to continue his set. He was not moving around the stage in his usual manner before pausing the concert to receive help.
Addressing the Audience
After receiving oxygen, Stewart addressed the audience, admitting that he had nearly fainted. He managed to raise a few laughs to ease the tension before continuing the show, though he finished the performance sitting down.
Recent Health Issues
Stewart had previously been forced to cancel a number of shows due to a bout of flu and, most recently, was unable to perform in San Diego as a result of laryngitis. Despite these health setbacks, he was able to attend one of Scotland's World Cup matches in Boston to support the team.
