Robbie Williams ended his set at Bilbao BBK Live in Spain with an emotional surprise, bringing his rarely seen 13-year-old daughter Teddy on stage for a duet of his iconic ballad 'Angels'. The 52-year-old singer became visibly choked up during the performance, particularly when singing the line 'she won't forsake me'.
Father-Daughter Moment on Stage
As the encore began, Teddy, whose full name is Theodora Williams, joined her father on stage. The pair hugged and walked hand-in-hand across the stage, bowing together to the cheering crowd. Teddy waved enthusiastically before her father began the final chorus, never letting go of her hand.
Robbie appeared too emotional to finish the song, allowing the audience to take over the vocals. He put an arm around Teddy's shoulder and kissed her head, then shared a little dance with her before raising her arm in the air to thank the crowd and wish them a goodnight.
Family Life Out of the Spotlight
Robbie shares Teddy with his wife Ayda Field. The couple also have three other children: daughter Colette, eight, and sons Charlton, 11, and Beau, six. The singer generally keeps his children away from the public eye, rarely posting about them on social media. However, Teddy has shown an interest in performing and was spotted on the set of the Christmas film 'Tinsel Town' alongside Rebel Wilson and Danny Dyer.
Fan Reactions
Fans were delighted by the surprise appearance. One wrote: 'Nothing beats a dad-and-daughter duet, especially when it's "Angels" and they're both floating on stage.' Another added: 'What a beautiful moment. Robbie closing with "Angels" and bringing his daughter out on stage pure magic. That song hits different with family on stage. Legend. Proper feel-good festival ending!' A third commented: 'That is such a beautiful moment. There's something incredibly special about seeing artists share the stage with their kids, especially during a massive anthem like "Angels". The energy in Bilbao must have been unforgettable.'
The Legacy of 'Angels'
'Angels', released in 1997, is widely considered one of Robbie Williams' most emotional songs. Co-written with Guy Chambers, the ballad won an Ivor Novello Award in 1999 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically and was voted the Best Song of the previous 25 years at the 2005 Brit Awards. The track spent 27 weeks on the UK charts and remains Robbie's best-selling single, with over one million copies sold in the UK alone. In a 2009 interview with The Telegraph, Williams explained: 'Angels isn't about anybody, it's about the thoughts that loved ones that have passed on come back and take care of you.'
