Prince Harry is reportedly feeling lost after losing his significant royal position, according to a top PR expert. The Duke of Sussex stepped down as a senior royal in 2020 alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, just two years after their wedding in May 2018. The couple moved to the US, where they now live with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Strained Family Relationships
Harry's relationship with the rest of the Royal Family has suffered significantly after he made several accusations against the institution and the British press regarding their treatment of him and Meghan. The couple gave a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, and Harry released his memoir Spare and a six-part Netflix documentary series, further deepening the rift, particularly with his brother, Prince William, whom Harry claimed knocked him to the floor during a heated confrontation.
PR Expert's Analysis
PR guru and crisis manager Mark Borowski told the Express: 'One could argue that, in his case, they're justified in becoming the infamous spare. But the bottom line, Harry was conditioned to be a significant person within the royal household. It might not have matched what his wife wanted or understood about the role, but it still was significant. So he feels like a lost soul.'
Current Visit to the UK
Harry has returned to the UK for a five-day visit focused on charity work and events. The 41-year-old will be working on the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, to be held in Birmingham in 2027. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Duke would not be staying at the palace during his visit, after it was initially understood that he would be. It is also unknown whether Harry will see his father, King Charles, who reportedly hopes to reunite with his son during the visit.
