Peter Andre has revealed that his wife Emily MacDonagh's strict parenting rules often prompt his older children to 'eye roll' when they visit their Surrey home. The Mysterious Girl singer explained that Emily does not allow their younger children, Millie, nine, and Theo, six, to use iPads during the week, with screen time limited to Saturday and Sunday mornings only.
At the dinner table, the family enforces a 'no-phones zone' policy, and when watching television, only one screen is permitted at a time. This approach contrasts sharply with the upbringing of Andre's older children, Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Price. According to Andre, the older kids grew up glued to their devices but are not allowed to use them when Emily is around.
In an interview with The Times, Andre praised his NHS doctor wife, saying, 'Emily's a very strict mum... you should see the eye-rolling.' He credited her with helping him see things differently as he has aged, adding, 'She's smart and sensible and organised and she makes me see things very differently. She has made me be like I was when I was really young.' Andre, who recently turned 50, noted that in over a decade together, the couple have never argued, attributing this to Emily's calming influence.
Reflecting on his own upbringing as a strict Jehovah's Witness, Andre admitted he rebelled after his music career took off at 16. He described a period of casual sex, shirtless posing, and arrogance, which he now regrets. This behaviour led to a nervous breakdown at age 25, causing panic attacks, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, and vertigo. After six years of medication and therapy, Andre returned to the spotlight through I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004.
