Noel Gallagher Slams Fans for 'Lazy' Requests – 'Play Wonderwall Again? Really?!'
Noel Gallagher: 'Stop asking for Wonderwall – it's lazy!'

Noel Gallagher, the iconic Oasis guitarist and songwriter, has taken aim at fans who repeatedly demand he plays the band's 1995 hit 'Wonderwall' at gigs. The Manchester-born rocker didn't hold back, branding the requests as 'lazy' and urging audiences to embrace his newer material.

'Play Wonderwall Again? Really?!'

During a recent interview, Gallagher expressed his frustration with fans stuck in the past. 'Every night, it's the same thing – "Play Wonderwall!" Like, come on, we wrote that 30 years ago. Have you not heard anything since?' he quipped.

The 56-year-old musician, now touring with his band High Flying Birds, admitted he still performs the classic track but finds the constant demands tiresome. 'It's lazy. If that's all you want, just stay home and listen to the CD.'

A Shift in Setlists

Gallagher revealed he's been experimenting with his live shows, mixing Oasis classics with newer solo work. 'I'm not a jukebox. I play what I want, when I want,' he stated defiantly.

This isn't the first time Gallagher has clashed with fans over setlists. His brother Liam, meanwhile, continues to embrace Oasis nostalgia, regularly performing the band's hits during his solo shows.

Fan Reactions Mixed

The comments have sparked debate among fans:

  • Traditionalists argue classic songs are what made Gallagher famous
  • Progressive fans applaud his artistic evolution
  • Casual listeners just want to sing along to the hits

Whether fans like it or not, Gallagher appears determined to push forward rather than dwell on past glories.
