Nicole Kidman has issued a warning about her 18-year marriage to Keith Urban, dismissing the notion that their relationship is 'perfect'. The 57-year-old actress, who married the country music star in 2006, said she does not believe in the concept of a perfect couple.
Speaking to E! News alongside her 'The Perfect Couple' co-star Liev Schreiber, Kidman stated: 'There's no perfect anything. Anything that's presented as perfect… forget it.' She added that she ignores the label of being part of a 'perfect couple', saying: 'I don't see any of that.'
This is not the first time Kidman has rejected the idea of a flawless marriage. She previously told Today: 'We don't want to be a pin-up couple. We just want to be a couple that has a great life together.' Urban has echoed her sentiments, telling E! News: 'I have no advice for anybody. You guys figure out whatever works for you.'
The couple faced early challenges when Urban entered rehab for alcohol addiction just four months after their wedding. Despite this, they have built a strong family, raising two daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13. Kidman also has two adopted children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
Reflecting on their wedding day in Sydney in 2006, Kidman described it as 'one of the most emotional things in my life'. She praised Urban as 'a really good man' and 'a great father', emphasising the importance of protecting their 'little bubble'.
