In a shocking turn of events, Paul Farrell, the convicted stalker who subjected television presenter Myleene Klass to a terrifying campaign of harassment, has been found dead in his prison cell.
The 45-year-old was discovered at HMP Manchester, where he was serving a three-year sentence for his relentless stalking of the former Hear'Say singer. Farrell's disturbing behaviour included sending hundreds of unwanted messages and turning up uninvited at Klass's home and workplace.
The stalker's reign of terror began in 2021 and escalated dramatically, with Farrell making multiple appearances at Klass's London residence and even travelling to her workplace. His obsessive behaviour culminated in a court case where he was found guilty of stalking involving serious alarm or distress.
During the trial, the court heard how Farrell's actions had left Klass feeling "terrified in her own home" and forced her to implement extensive security measures to protect herself and her family.
A prison service spokesperson confirmed the tragic discovery, stating: "HMP Manchester prisoner Paul Farrell was found unresponsive in his cell on 23 August. Staff attempted resuscitation but he was pronounced dead shortly after. As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation."
The news comes as a devastating conclusion to a case that highlighted the very real dangers of celebrity stalking and the profound impact such harassment can have on victims.
