Meghan Markle has brought joy to young patients with a surprise visit to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, leaving fans overwhelmed with emotion. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, joined children for painting and craft activities and visited patients in their rooms as part of the hospital's Make March Matter annual fundraiser.
Images shared on the hospital's Instagram page show Meghan engaging with families and participating in art sessions. The hospital captioned the photos: 'Today we were honoured to welcome LA's own @meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to CHLA's Creative Oasis, where she spent time painting alongside our incredible patients. These special moments are a reminder of how powerful creativity can be in fostering joy, connection, and healing.'
Comments were overwhelmingly positive, with one user writing: 'Great work Duchess Meghan continue to encourage the kids.' Another said: 'This is incredibly touching. Bringing comfort, creativity, and smiles to children who are going through so much is such a beautiful use of her time and platform.' A third added: 'Brings tears to my eyes.'
The visit comes amid news that a documentary executive produced by Harry and Meghan has been acquired by an independent production company. US rights to Cookie Queens, a coming-of-age tale about the Girl Scouts cookie-selling tradition, have been secured by Roadside Attractions, according to Variety. Harry and Meghan signed a diluted first-look deal with Netflix last year, granting the streaming giant first option on projects from their Archewell Productions.
Meghan's lifestyle company As Ever, which retails jams, herbal teas and chocolates, concluded its partnership with Netflix this month. A spokesperson said the brand was 'now ready to stand on its own'. Meghan previously commented on the documentary: 'As a former Girl Scout myself, with my mum as my troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film.' She described it as 'one of the most powerful and meaningful depictions of something that is an American tradition and rooted in nostalgia.'
Archewell Productions collaborated with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films on the documentary, directed by Alysa Nahmias. It debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and is scheduled to feature at SXSW before launching in cinemas over the summer.
