Married At First Sight Australia star Chris Robinson has shared a heartbreaking update on his surrogacy journey, revealing that the surrogate mother lost one of the embryos during filming. The 38-year-old gym owner and farmer had entered the experiment hoping to find love while already expecting two children.
Chris had begun his journey to fatherhood before appearing on the show, serving as a sperm donor for a close friend and pursuing surrogacy for a second child. His donor child, a baby girl, was born in late 2025, just one day after his wedding to Sammy Stanton. Chris described the joy of becoming a father, saying: 'I love her so much and I get really emotional when I talk about her – it’s happening right now, I’ll try to contain it – I just love her so much, she’s got me wrapped around her little finger. It’s the best.'
However, the surrogacy journey took a tragic turn. Chris explained to PEDESTRIAN.TV: 'Unfortunately whilst I was filming, there was a bit of an issue around my surrogate journey. We had a couple of embryos and the surrogate unfortunately lost one of them, so it was a bit of a sad moment.' He added that the experience made his MAFS journey even more challenging: 'The experiment is so tough in itself. You’re dealing with so much and there’s a lot of emotions, so obviously that was pretty hard to process especially in the environment as well. So it’s been tough, but I’ve pushed through it.'
Despite the setback, Chris has found support from his husband Sammy, who embraced his plans for fatherhood from the start. Sammy told nine.com.au: 'I'm very open to having kids, I love kids, I'd love to raise some of my own someday.' The couple continues to navigate their relationship while Chris pursues his dream of becoming a father.
