Lorraine Kelly, the 66-year-old Scottish presenter, refused to let Scotland's World Cup defeat dampen her spirits. After the team lost to Morocco in their second group stage match on June 19, 2026, Kelly and her husband Steve Smith opted for a unique mode of transport back to their hotel: a Tartan Army party bus.
Party Bus Antics Go Viral
Smith shared a clip on Instagram showing Kelly singing and clapping along to a version of the Hokey Cokey while surrounded by fellow Scotland fans on the bus. The video, captioned "Never mind. The bus trip back was good," quickly drew amused reactions from fans. One commenter wrote: "Brilliant! Fab pic of you both and that bus looks so much fun!!" Another added: "What a hoot on the bus."
Journey to the Stadium
Kelly had flown to Boston directly after her ITV slot on June 17 to join the Tartan Army. Ahead of the match, she confessed her nerves were "shredded" while sitting in the stands. She also shared that securing transport to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough was a challenge, as trains and buses were full. In an interview with Heart Scotland, she explained: "So we managed somehow, don't ask me how, we've got a couple of seats on a Tartan Army Party Bus. So thoughts and prayers."
Fans React
Fans were delighted by Kelly's party bus plan. One wrote: "It will be the most fun way to travel to Lorraine." Another said: "Lorraine is a true gem! Love her!" A third added: "Lorraine can blag her way in anywhere." During the match, one fan noted meeting Kelly and said: "Great to meet you at the Morocco game! Thanks for cheering me up when I looked desolate after the game, it was part hangover!"
Exploring Boston
On her last day in Boston, Kelly visited The Boston Tea Party Museum, calling it "great fun" and praising the city for making Scotland fans feel welcome. She added: "You never know we might be back to play more football. It's not over yet!"
