Former Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has revealed a dramatic weight loss transformation, shedding seven stone over the past year. The 26-year-old, who appeared on the Channel 4 show from 2013 to 2018, dropped three dress sizes with the help of a personal trainer and the weight loss drug Mounjaro.
Tapper began using the weekly injection in June 2024 after consulting her doctor, starting at a 2.5mg dose and increasing to 15mg by February. She described the drug as life-changing but expressed frustration at critics who call it the 'lazy way out'.
Fans praised her transformation on Instagram, with comments calling her 'absolutely amazing' and 'incredible'. Tapper told The Sun she now fits into size 18 clothes for the first time since age 15, emphasising that she had tried for 17 years to lose weight without success before turning to Mounjaro.
She credited her personal trainer with providing crucial support, calling them 'a friend and more like a therapist'. Around 1.5 million people in the UK are estimated to be on weight loss drugs, with over half using Mounjaro, which works by suppressing appetite.
However, the drug's manufacturer Eli Lilly recently announced a 170% price increase for the UK, bringing monthly costs for higher doses to over £335 at Boots pharmacy. Users are advised to maintain a balanced diet and regular exercise alongside the medication, which can cause side effects such as nausea, bloating, and diarrhoea.
