Lindsay Lohan has candidly discussed the challenges she faced in Hollywood after rising to fame as a teenager. The actress, now 37, revealed how she was often pigeonholed into stereotypical teen roles, making it difficult to secure more mature and diverse parts later in her career.
Breaking Free from Typecasting
In a recent interview, Lohan admitted that her early success in films like Mean Girls and Freaky Friday came with an unexpected downside. "People saw me as the quintessential teen star," she explained. "Breaking out of that mould took years of persistence and reinvention."
The Fight for Better Roles
The actress described how casting directors would often dismiss her for more serious roles, assuming she couldn't move beyond her comedic teen persona. "I had to fight tooth and nail just to get auditions for dramatic parts," Lohan revealed. "There's this perception in Hollywood that if you succeed in one genre, that's all you can do."
A New Chapter
Now making a comeback with recent projects, Lohan says she's finally being considered for the types of roles she always wanted. "It's been a long journey, but I feel like I'm finally being seen as the actress I always knew I could be," she shared optimistically.
