Jimmy Kimmel's cousin and longtime show writer Sal Iacono has hinted that further revelations may emerge following the indefinite suspension of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' by ABC last week. Speaking on 'The Bill Simmons Podcast', Iacono said: 'There are a couple bombshells still there.' He declined to elaborate, citing respect for affected staff.
Iacono expressed confidence that Kimmel would be 'fine' regardless of the outcome, jokingly suggesting he might become a 'pop-up chef' making barbecue. The controversy erupted after Kimmel's monologue on the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, where he mocked Donald Trump's response to the killing.
Kimmel's comments sparked backlash from conservatives, leading Sinclair and Nexstar to pull programming. ABC and Disney subsequently suspended the show indefinitely, drawing criticism from free speech advocates and late-night colleagues including Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, who defended Kimmel.
President Trump celebrated the suspension on Truth Social, calling Kimmel 'ZERO talent' and urging NBC to take similar action against Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers. Iacono declined to discuss the show's future further, stating: 'We both know too much.'
