The new presenting team of Strictly Come Dancing has made their first public appearance together at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe were officially announced as the BBC show's new hosts earlier this week, following weeks of speculation.
The trio posed for photographs in the sunshine, with professional dancer Radebe lifting an ecstatic Widdicombe in one image. Their appearance comes after a lengthy audition process that saw several high-profile names, including Zoe Ball, Sara Cox and Rylan Clark-Neal, confirm they had been considered but not selected.
Former host Tess Daly welcomed the new team, calling them 'the ultimate trio'. Willis expressed her excitement in a statement, saying she is a 'huge fan' of the show and acknowledging the challenge of following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, whom she described as 'two wonderful, iconic women'.
Radebe, currently starring in the West End production of Kinky Boots, received a special curtain-call speech from co-star Matt Cardle following the announcement. Meanwhile, the show is set to introduce up to five new professional dancers, following the departures of Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez, among others.
The celebrity line-up for the upcoming series remains under wraps, with Jack Quickenden among those rumoured to be taking part. Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
