Reality television superstar Kim Kardashian has sent shockwaves through social media after unexpectedly revealing she hosted an intimate pajama party with pop icon Britney Spears.
Celebrity Sleepover Sparks Social Media Frenzy
The 45-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared two Instagram Stories from the glamorous sleepover, which also featured her younger sister Khloe Kardashian and Spears' close confidant Cade Hudson, who currently serves as the singer's manager.
In the playful selfies that quickly went viral, Kim struck a festive pose with a characteristic pout, while Britney pulled a comically glum expression and stuck her tongue out. The images appeared to have been captured by Hudson during their Calabasas gathering.
Kim captioned one photo "Calabasas Nights," strongly suggesting she or Khloe had organised the event given the neighbourhood's reputation as the Kardashian family's exclusive enclave.
Fan Disbelief and Historical Connections
The unexpected celebrity crossover left fans so astonished that many took to social media platforms questioning whether the photographs had been generated by artificial intelligence.
"I thought it was AI... I still think it is," one Reddit user confessed, prompting another to respond: "Me too! I don't know why people shut it down so quickly. Maybe they don't understand how impressive AI has become at mimicking people."
However, other followers recalled the previous connection between Spears and the Kardashian clan, noting that both Britney and Khloe had worked together on The X-Factor back in 2012, when the pop star served as a judge and Khloe co-hosted the competition series.
"I completely forgot Khloe and Britney did X Factor together," one commenter remarked, highlighting the longstanding, if overlooked, relationship between the music superstar and reality television dynasty.
Controversial Connections Raise Concerns
More troubling to some observers were the Kardashian family's social ties to Lou Taylor, Spears' highly controversial former business manager. Taylor is widely believed to have been instrumental in establishing the pop star's conservatorship, making her a primary target of the #FreeBritney movement's criticism.
Though Taylor maintains she had "no role whatsoever in the creation" of the legal arrangement, Britney's memoirs tell a different story. The singer wrote that her father "struck up a very close friendship with Louise 'Lou' Taylor" before the conservatorship began, adding that Taylor "was front and center during the implementation of the conservatorship that would later allow them to control and take over my career."
The timing of the sleepover raised particular concerns among Spears' supporters, as Taylor had been spotted just last Saturday among the celebrity guests at Kris Jenner's lavish 70th birthday celebration, held at the Beverly Hills residence of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
One distressed fan reacted to the pajama party photos by lamenting "the lou taylor of it ALL," adding sympathetically: "i feel so bad for Britney."
Another Reddit user echoed these concerns, questioning: "Aren't they involved with Lou Taylor who was behind the conservatorship? This is very dark I do not like this for Britney."
Fans have increasingly shared worries about Spears' wellbeing since her emancipation from the conservatorship in 2021, which had initially been established under her father Jamie Spears' control following her highly publicised mental health crisis in 2008.
These concerns were further amplified last year when medical personnel were photographed escorting a dishevelled and partially dressed Spears from the Chateau Marmont hotel in the early morning hours.
