Kelly Osbourne Confronts Vile Body Shamers After Fashion Week Appearance
Television personality and singer Kelly Osbourne has issued a powerful response to online body shamers who have subjected her to a torrent of cruel comments regarding her recent weight loss. The backlash intensified following her front row appearance at London Fashion Week on Sunday, where she attended the Ascot Millinery Collective's catwalk presentation at Claridges in Mayfair.
Disturbing Comments About Late Father
Osbourne took to Instagram to share a screenshot of one particularly vile message that crossed a devastating line. The comment read: 'Looks like a dead body... she's too thin and fragile... looks like she's going to see her dad soon,' followed by multiple laughing emojis. This cruel reference targeted her father, Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last July at his Buckinghamshire home.
The 41-year-old mother-of-one expressed her shock and disgust, writing alongside the screenshot: 'Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!' In a subsequent post, she added: 'This too shall pass, but like, holy f**k.'
Denial of Weight Loss Medication Rumors
Osbourne has repeatedly denied using weight loss jabs or medications like Ozempic, despite persistent rumors. 'I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don't know where that came from. My mom took Ozempic,' she previously told Extra. Instead, she attributes her transformation to a combination of factors including gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, which she called 'the best thing I have ever done,' along with strict diet and high-intensity interval training.
Lifelong Struggle with Body Image
The British celebrity has been open about her lifelong insecurities regarding weight, dating back to her teenage years while starring in the family reality show The Osbournes. She revealed on The Osbournes podcast last year that an agency head once told her she was 'too fat for TV' and needed to lose weight to become a movie star.
Her weight journey has been described as a rollercoaster, with pregnancy adding another significant chapter. When expecting her son Sidney in 2022, Osbourne gained approximately 100 pounds and developed gestational diabetes, later admitting she avoided the spotlight during that period.
Concerns from Those Close to Her
Sources close to Osbourne have expressed concern about her current appearance, with one telling the Daily Mail that 'nobody near her is looking to provide an intervention, but people have noticed and are monitoring it.' The source added that the stress of her father's passing has taken a toll on her health and appearance.
Another source revealed that Osbourne has told people she got skinnier for her child, wanting to be around to play with him for many years. 'Now that she lost her dad, she sees that being something even more important,' the source explained.
Despite the scrutiny, Osbourne remains defiant against critics who examine her dramatic transformation. According to insiders, while she gets upset about people discussing her appearance, she would tell anyone who brought it up directly to 'go screw off.'
