I'm a Celebrity star Kelly Brook is heading into the jungle with one major fear, according to her close friend and Heart radio colleague Toby Anstis. While he predicts the model and presenter will be a huge hit and likely reach the final three, he has revealed that the show's infamous eating trials are her absolute 'worst nightmare'.
Jungle Prep: Sausage Rolls Over the Gym
In an exclusive revelation, Toby Anstis shared the details of Kelly's highly unconventional preparation for life in the Australian jungle. Contrary to her initial plans of rigorous gym sessions and hikes, Kelly adopted a very different strategy. 'The last thing I saw her taking a bite of was a sausage roll,' Toby admitted. He recounted her saying, 'Toby, I'm getting ready for starving in camp.'
Anstis, who himself took part in the ITV show back in 2006, said he tried to offer some advice, telling her, 'you don't really want to be doing that, you want to be slowing down your eating before you go in….you've got to train your tummy not to want food.' However, he conceded that Kelly, who he describes as eating well but enjoying junk food 'like we all do', had clearly chosen her own path. Kelly herself confirmed this unique approach, stating she had been 'fattening myself up in the run-up' to the show.
Public Set to Fall for a 'Bonkers' Star
Despite her fear of the Bushtucker Trials, Toby Anstis is brimming with confidence about his friend's chances. He firmly believes the British public will quickly fall in love with her 'funny, quirky and eccentric' personality. 'She is eccentric...she has these English Rose quirks about her,' he said. 'She's sort of an old soul on young shoulders. She is quite wise, that kind of eccentricity. She's brilliant and slightly bonkers at the same time.'
This charm, he predicts, will propel her deep into the competition. Anstis named his predicted final three as Kelly Brook, Martin Kemp, and 'Angry Ginge'. He did, however, sound a note of caution about the potential for cabin fever, the intense heat, and long, boring days, noting that the mix of personalities is crucial for a positive experience.
Embracing Confidence and Curves
Ahead of her jungle debut, Kelly Brook has also spoken openly about her body confidence. The 46-year-old vowed to use the famous jungle shower and addressed potential online trolling about her figure. 'Obviously, I am not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore,' she said. 'Life changes and your body changes. And I just hope people are accepting of me and how I look now, and not comparing me to how I used to look.'
Instead of dwelling on the past, Kelly stated she has fully embraced her curves. Highlighting her fitness, including running a marathon this year, she said, 'I feel really confident. I feel like my body is in good shape. I just feel great. I am 46, I embrace my curves. I embrace my body...so I am proud of that.' With a unique preparation strategy and a resolve to be herself, Kelly Brook is set to be one of the most talked-about campmates of the series.
