Katie Price's Husband Confesses to CV Embellishments Amid Fraud Claims
In his first interview this week, Lee Andrews, the husband of British media personality Katie Price, has admitted to lying on his curriculum vitae while confronting a series of fraud allegations. The businessman, who describes himself as a millionaire, previously asserted that he studied at Cambridge University and holds a PhD, with his LinkedIn profile listing him as a 'Member Of The Board of Advisors' for the Labour Party and 'Director of Philanthropy at The King’s Trust'. However, he now acknowledges these claims were embellished, attributing the inaccuracies to a former personal assistant.
Dubai Legal Troubles and Financial Disputes
British-born Lee Andrews reportedly spent three weeks detained in a Dubai jail over allegations that he forged his ex-girlfriend's signature to secure a £200,000 loan in her name, resulting in a travel ban from the United Arab Emirates. He denies these accusations. Additionally, on Friday, he faced a fresh claim that he accepted $1000 from another woman for an investment in his company, Aura Worldwide Holdings Ltd, but has failed to repay her. Lee refuted this on Instagram shortly after the allegation surfaced.
Speaking to The Sun, Andrews stated, 'I think that’s been hyped up and made to look better than what it is and it needs to come down. I can’t take the showmanship of it, but I’ll take the accountability.' He explained that the personal assistant responsible for the CV embellishments no longer works for him, adding that he does not manage his own LinkedIn or social media accounts. He conceded that his CV requires significant revision, admitting 'it's not good' by any measure.
Investment Controversy and Business Dissolution
The Sun reported that a woman contacted the publication, alleging she invested $1000 in Lee Andrews' company after he promised she could 'double her money in ten days'. She detailed sending the funds to his personal bank account, but upon requesting a refund, Lee assured repayment within 24 hours. After two months without reimbursement, she threatened police involvement, to which Lee reportedly responded, 'Police? Give me 48 hours I'll send.' Despite this, she claims the money remains unpaid.
Official paperwork indicates that Aura Worldwide Holdings Ltd, registered in the British Virgin Islands, was dissolved in 2024. However, Lee Andrews insisted to The Sun that the company is '100 per cent it's there' and not dissolved. The Daily Mail has reached out to Andrews for comment, with him denying the dissolution when approached by The Sun.
Katie Price's Defense and Clarifications
In response to the mounting accusations labeling Lee as a 'scammer', Katie Price attempted to clarify his credentials in a YouTube video. Reading a statement she attributed to Lee, she asserted he holds an 'associate degree in engineering by distance learning from Cambridge', notarised and attested, but admitted confusion over his PhD, stating it originated from Spain, not Cambridge. She explained, 'I have seen something from Cambridge, it's a thesis or whatever it's called from Cambridge, but the PHD is from Spain, so yeah I got that wrong.'
Katie defended her husband against the fraud allegations, claiming they stem from a smear campaign by an ex-partner. She emphasized her commitment to the relationship, saying, 'I'm with Lee for Lee, I couldn’t give a s**t if he was a binman, I couldn’t give a s**t if he was a rich man or a blind man, how I connect with Lee and how I get on with Lee and how I feel about Lee and how he treats me is all I care about.'
Elsewhere in the interview, Lee declared his intention to father Katie's next child and maintained that he has met Kim Kardashian, despite her denial. As the controversy unfolds, the couple continues to navigate these legal and personal challenges in the public eye.
