Katie Price Defends Health After GMB Host Voices Weight Concerns

Katie Price has firmly insisted she is in good health following a direct line of questioning from Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, who voiced significant concern about the former glamour model's dramatic and noticeable weight loss during a live television interview. The 47-year-old celebrity appeared on Monday's edition of the popular morning programme, where the conversation quickly turned from her controversial new marriage to her visibly gaunt figure, which has sparked widespread alarm among fans, family, and friends in recent months.

Susanna Reid's Candid Concern on Live Television

During the interview, Susanna Reid did not shy away from addressing the elephant in the room, telling Katie Price openly, 'Katie, can I ask, because I am concerned about your weight. You are very, very, very skinny.' The 59-year-old presenter pressed further, asking whether her slim appearance was due to overusing weight loss medication or if she had established it as a healthy weight. Katie responded positively to the inquiry, stating, 'Yes, and I am glad you asked this!' before launching into a detailed explanation about her recent medical consultations.

Medical Investigations and Health Assurance

Katie Price revealed that she has proactively sought medical advice to understand the reasons behind her significant weight reduction. She explained, 'People that follow me online will know I have lost weight. I recognise I have lost weight. I look too skinny, I look gaunt. So I have been to the doctors, to see why am I losing, I have done all the blood tests, I have even done the poo one, as well, to find out.' When Susanna Reid questioned if her doctor had given her a clean bill of health, Katie confirmed, 'I said to them, everyone said I am on Ozempic, they said, well we can tell in your bloods you're not.'

She elaborated that medical tests have identified an iron deficiency, with further checks ongoing, and attributed part of her condition to entering the premenopause stage. 'I am lacking in iron, they are now checking the other bit. And I am going through premenopause at the moment as well. I am healthy, so nobody worry about me,' she asserted. Susanna Reid summarised, 'You are healthy, and you are happy,' to which Katie replied, 'Yes, very happy.'

Fan Alarm and Previous Admissions

Katie Price's shrinking physique has been a source of intense public concern since January, when photographs emerged showing her looking extremely thin during a shopping trip with her 18-year-old daughter, Princess Andre. Online fans pleaded with her to seek help, prompting the star to address the issue on her podcast, The Katie Price Show. Discussing the matter with her sister Sophie, she admitted, 'I know I look gaunt, I look like I'm ill – hence why I'm going to the doctors tomorrow.'

She reiterated her awareness of the situation, stating, 'I don't know how many times I have to say to people, 'Yes I know I've lost weight,' and there's obviously a reason, I said it to the doctor. We all know that we're trying to sort it all out and as soon as I know then I'll let everyone know.' This transparency has done little to quell the ongoing worries, as her appearance continues to tell a visual story that contrasts with her verbal assurances of wellbeing.

Marriage Discussion and Personal Defence

The interview also covered Katie Price's headline-grabbing marriage to Dubai-based Lee Andrews, following a whirlwind romance that saw them tie the knot in January. Despite reports that her family are deeply concerned and did not initially know who Lee was, Katie declared she is 'happy' and capable of making her own decisions. When Susanna Reid shared that she would be 'concerned' if she were a friend, given the rapid nature of the relationship, Katie fired back with a philosophical perspective.

'Do you ever really know anyone? If you look at my past marriages, did I ever know they would be what they would be? Sometimes I don't think you can ever know who anyone is...' she mused. Reflecting on her history of turbulent relationships, she added, 'For me, I've gone through so much, so many different relationships, and I normally went from one to the other... before I've always been in toxic, coercive, controlling, mental abuse, physical abuse relationships.'

Asserting her maturity and discernment, Katie concluded, 'Now, I now know the signs of red flags and all of this, I am older, I can make my own decisions and there's nothing to say that you have to wait for anything. It's hard for anyone to understand. It just feels so right, I've only been in love twice before that, with Dane Bowers and Peter [Andre]. With Lee, it's so different to every other relationship, and it works for me.'
