Dame Joanna Lumley has revealed her long-standing beauty secret: a £4 moisturiser that fans claim leaves them looking '10 years younger'. The 'Ab Fab' star, 77, told The Times she has used Astral Face and Body Intensive Moisturiser for 40 years as a moisturiser, cleanser and hand cream.
The cream, which costs £4 on Amazon for a 200ml tub, is enriched with lanolin and petroleum jelly to protect the skin's natural barrier. It is suitable for all skin types and can be used day and night on both face and body. Astral has been a cult classic since its launch in 1953.
Over 4,000 Amazon shoppers have given it a 4.7 out of 5 star rating. One customer said: 'People tell me I look so much younger than my age. At 51 I'm starting to get my first wrinkles. Still the best product on the market.' Another added: 'I'm 71 and have really good skin, wrinkle-free.'
However, some users find the cream too greasy. One reviewer noted: 'I found it very greasy, sits on your skin. Not for me.' Despite this, the moisturiser remains Amazon's number one best-selling body cream.
