Jack Osbourne is preparing for one of his most significant public challenges to date, entering the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle just four months after the death of his father, the legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne.
A Family's Support Amid Grief
The 40-year-old television personality has confirmed he is embarking on this adventure with the full backing of his mother, Sharon, and sister, Kelly, as the family continues to navigate their heartbreaking year. Jack revealed that both his mum and sister plan to tune in and watch his jungle journey, believing the experience could provide a welcome distraction.
"Mum and Kelly, yeah they are absolutely going to be watching. They are supportive," Jack stated. He also confessed that being separated from his immediate family will be one of the toughest aspects of the show. "It's absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind," he said, highlighting that he has a wife, several children, and his wider family to consider in the wake of his dad's passing.
Facing the Jungle Challenge
While Jack has experience with demanding filming conditions from his time on Adrenaline Junkie, where he spent nearly two months without a phone, he acknowledges this will be different. "I was able to make calls home. It's going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids," he admitted. Despite the nerves, he hopes to make his family proud.
Jack described his decision to join the cast as one he had to seriously contemplate. "I definitely had to think about doing this programme," he shared, acknowledging the intense commitment required. He cited personal intrigue as a major motivator, echoing the question many viewers ask themselves: "Could I do that?"
Hopes for a Transformative Experience
Looking ahead to his time in camp, Jack Osbourne expressed a hope that the experience could be "transformative," noting that many past contestants have had profound personal journeys. He is self-aware about his potential low points, admitting he can get "pretty sh***y" when exhausted, but generally considers himself a positive person who will take each challenge as it comes.
When asked about the possibility of being crowned the new 'King of the Jungle', Jack remained humble. "It's a hard one to say if I am honest but if anything, if you do win, a lot of people would have voted for you, so you would be very flattered," he replied.
The upcoming series, the show's 25th, is hosted once again by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. Jack will be joined by a diverse lineup of celebrities including Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, ex-EastEnder Shona McGarty, Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, and comedian Ruby Wax. A show source has hinted that producers are planning to make this milestone series the most memorable yet.
