ITV chef Parveen Ashraf, known as Parveen the Spice Queen, has revealed that her husband of 38 years, Ashraf Qamar Parvez, 68, was killed during a robbery in Ghana six months ago. She shared the news in an Instagram video to her 30,000 followers, stating that Parvez was "in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Details of the Incident
According to the BBC, Parvez was shot in November 2025 after he tried to stop thieves stealing his phone at a drinking spot in Tema, a city near Accra. He later died in hospital. Ashraf first disclosed the death in December, describing Parvez as "taken from us tragically and suddenly."
Ashraf's Emotional Tribute
In her video, Ashraf said, "I had a personal tragedy and I lost my husband about six months ago." She expressed uncertainty about returning to work but felt her husband "wouldn't want me to wallow in self-pity." Speaking directly to him, she added, "Rest in peace my darling."
At the beginning of July, Ashraf shared a tribute post set to Genesis' 'Follow You Follow Me', featuring photos of the couple. She wrote, "I chose this song as I always told him that wherever he was, I would follow him - and I did." She recounted moving with him from London to Leeds to Peterborough and finally to Ghana. "He is now in a different realm and I will follow him there too," she added.
