Daveigh Chase, the former child star known for her roles in The Ring and Lilo & Stitch, has reportedly left a six-figure fortune after her death at age 35. The actress died while homeless in June after a brief battle with advanced HIV infection, according to the Los Angeles Coroner's Office.

Her mother, Cathy Chase, filed a petition to be appointed as her daughter's estate administrator on July 8 in Los Angeles Superior Court. Court documents obtained by the LA Times reveal that Daveigh died without a will and left behind $400,000 (£299,500) in assets. Her parents confirmed she was homeless at the time of her death on June 16.

Cause of Death

The Los Angeles Coroner's Office announced that Daveigh died of AIDS, with a secondary cause listed as “chronic polysubstance use.” The actress had battled drug addiction for years, as detailed by her boyfriend in a GoFundMe campaign created in her final hours.

Career Highlights

Daveigh voiced Lilo in Disney's 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch and Chihiro Ogino in the 2001 Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away. She gained fame among horror fans for playing Samara Morgan in The Ring (2002), a role that earned her the Best Villain award at the MTV Movie Awards.
