The Baggs family were firm favourites on Gogglebox before their shock departure, but what have the clan been getting up to since? Comprising mum Lisa, dad Terry, and brothers Joe and George, the foursome from Essex joined the Channel 4 programme during series 16 in 2020. It didn't take long for them to become a hit with fans, but after a two-year run, the family announced they would depart in 2022. Since then, the Baggs have been through a great deal, from finding fame on ITV programmes to enduring a heartbreaking loss.
Joe Baggs' TV Fame
Following his exit, Joe Baggs has gone on to find considerable fame on social media and has made numerous TV appearances, including presenting slots on ITV's Lorraine and This Morning. Joe has made the most of his Gogglebox platform, building an enormous following on TikTok. Currently, he boasts 2.2 million followers and 203.9 million likes, securing brand deals with major names such as Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, Burger King, and Fanta. Alongside his TikTok following, Joe also commands 386k Instagram followers. Earlier this year, Joe fronted a brand-new Britain's Got Talent spin-off show. He said in a statement: "I've been watching Britain's Got Talent with my family for as long as I can remember, so it's a real 'pinch me' moment to be joining as the official digital presenter this series. I'm excited for viewers to join me on the DFS sofa to get all the unbelievable backstage gossip from the live shows. We'll be first with the news from the BGT semi-finalists in the run-up to the all-important live final. It's going to be glorious chaos."
George Baggs Handed Advertising Ban
Joe's brother George is equally making his mark on social media, boasting 447k Instagram followers and 1.7 million on TikTok. Both George and Joe's content is heavily family-orientated, with their parents regularly featuring in their videos. The family even launched their own podcast, Not My Bagg, featuring Joe, George, and mum Lisa in 2023. Guests have included Kerry Katona, Coleen Nolan, and Melanie C. However, Joe is the sole remaining host of the popular podcast at the time of writing. In 2023, George, who was 19 at the time, was found to have breached advertising regulations by promoting vapes while underage in a video of himself using nicotine e-cigarettes on TikTok. The legal age to promote vapes is 25, and promoting nicotine e-cigarettes that are not licensed as medicines is banned from newspapers, magazines, and online. George was prohibited from posting a clip of him holding one of the products again following an investigation by the Advertising Standards Authority. He was also cautioned against using under-25s to advertise e-cigarettes.
Mum Lisa's Heartbreak
This week, matriarch Lisa, who also boasts an impressive Instagram following, took to the social media platform to pay tribute to the family dog Dolly on the two-year anniversary of her passing. Alongside several photographs of the adorable pup, Lisa shared her heartbreak and wrote in the caption: "2 yrs ago today having to let Dolly go. Was the worst day of my life. My heart still aches for her and I miss her more now than ever. I still love you so much my beautiful baby girl ..my Dolly - Molly - Moo. My everything." Son George also expressed his sadness in the comments, writing: "Our Dolly," accompanied by several love heart emojis. Meanwhile, another follower wrote: "Thinking of you. Sending so much love. Hope you're resting easy sweet girl." A second follower added: "Sending love and hugs. A beautiful Dolly will always be with you Lisa.. She is an angel now and will always give you a sign when she's dropping in." Gogglebox airs on Channel 4.
