Georgia Tennant has publicly declared she 'adores the ground' her husband David walks on, in a heartfelt tribute shared just as the couple revealed they have been forced to contact the police over a series of disturbing death threats.
A Loving Tribute After the BAFTA Scotland Awards
The actress, 40, shared a gushing post about her husband, 54, following their attendance at the BAFTA Scotland Awards on Sunday evening. Posting several romantic snaps of the pair together on social media, Georgia reflected on their 17-year relationship.
She wrote: '17 years of being your plus one and my favorite part is always the bit after everyone else has gone, I can take off my spanx and we sit and sip Gimlets.'
Emphasising the strength of their private life, she added: 'That my friend, Bafta or no Bafta, is the true win. Adore the ground you walk on DT (especially in a kilt) x'.
The Disturbing Backdrop of Online Abuse
This public display of affection comes against a grim backdrop. David and Georgia were forced to contact the police after receiving a fresh wave of vile death threats on social media.
This alarming development comes just weeks after a stalker offered a reward for her murder. Earlier this month, Georgia took to her Instagram Stories to share snaps of the distressing messages, which saw her branded a 'dirty w****' and told she deserved to 'die for good'.
In a particularly cruel twist, Georgia, who has been married to the Doctor Who star since 2011, was incorrectly referred to as his 'ex-wife'. Other messages called her 'disgusting' and told her to 'return to the streets'.
In a desperate bid for intervention, Georgia tagged both the Metropolitan Police and Instagram alongside the screenshots.
A Family Under Fire and a History of Harassment
The couple, who share five children - Olive, 14; Wilfred, 12; Doris, 10; and five-year-old Birdie, as well as Georgia's 23-year-old son Ty from a previous relationship - have faced this kind of terror before.
In September, Georgia revealed she had a stalker who offered a reward on social media for her murder. She shared one threat that read: 'Whoever kills Georgia Tennant immediately will receive a reward from me.' At the time, she reached out to Facebook and its owner Mark Zuckerberg, asking for action to be taken.
Despite this ongoing harassment, the couple continues to celebrate their life together. Earlier this year, Georgia shared a sweet tribute to her 'kind, funny and relentlessly generous' spouse as they celebrated 17 years since they first started dating.
The couple met in 2008 when Georgia starred in Doctor Who as the genetically engineered daughter of David's character. They married three years later in 2011, building a family and a life together that now faces these severe external pressures.
