Gabby Logan's kids send two-word message over sex admission

BBC presenter Gabby Logan has revealed her children sent her a blunt two-word message on their family WhatsApp after she discussed her sex life with husband Kenny Logan on their Midpoint podcast.

Gabby, 53, co-hosts the podcast with her husband, former rugby player Kenny Logan, 54, where they share insights into their lives and experiences of navigating middle age. During a recent instalment, the couple opened up about their intimate relationship.

The subject matter sparked some friction in the Logan family's WhatsApp chat, Gabby confessed to The Times, revealing that her children, 21-year-old fraternal twins Lois and Reuben, had objected.

Family reaction to candid podcast

Speaking to the publication, Gabby said: "When Kenny and I did a Midpoint podcast episode about his prostate cancer, my kids found it toe-curling because we talked about our sex life. I'd get messages on our family WhatsApp, like, 'Enough now'."

Nevertheless, this wasn't the first time Gabby had been frank about intimate details of her relationship with husband Kenny, whom she met in a bar in 1998 before tying the knot three years later, in 2001.

Previous comments on HRT and libido

Last year, Gabby discussed the effects of taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and how it had significantly influenced her libido. The BBC Sport presenter expressed concern that sex would "become a duty" due to her diminished interest in it.

However, Gabby acknowledged that this had changed within a fortnight of starting HRT. According to The Sun, she said: "My libido came back within about a week and our sex life was back on track - even to the extent of having daytime sex."

Clarifying the 'romp' comments

Gabby was subsequently questioned about these remarks on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast by fellow broadcaster Lisa Snowdon, who also enquired about her intimate life with Kenny.

Reflecting on her previous statements, Gabby responded: "The word romp, I don't think has ever come out of my mouth until that week when I was paraphrased as, 'Now the kids have left home, we can have daily romps'."

"I think what I'd said was, someone had said something about sex life with midlife women and things, and I was saying at least when the kids go home, you're not confined to evening sex. So in theory, you could have sex during the day."

Gabby also elaborated on why she may have offered those observations: "I was totally oblivious to it until about 6pm because I was doing loads of podcasts and I'm wandering around and sometimes you know, 'People have looked at me that day having read that headline', and they're probably thinking, 'She better get home, it's time for a romp'."
