In a startlingly honest revelation, Loose Women panelist Frankie Bridge has confessed that she completely wasted her entire salary from the popular ITV daytime show during her early years on the programme.
The former Saturdays singer, who joined the panel in 2021, opened up about her financial regrets during a recent appearance on the Conversations From The Car podcast with host Suzi Ruffell.
The Painful Truth About Her Paycheck
"I squandered my first year's wages from Loose Women," Frankie admitted candidly. "I literally have nothing to show for it."
The 35-year-old television personality explained that despite earning a substantial income from the show, she found herself with empty pockets and nothing tangible to demonstrate for her hard work.
A Lifelong Struggle With Financial Anxiety
Frankie's money troubles aren't a recent development. She revealed that financial anxiety has plagued her since childhood, despite coming from a comfortable background.
"I've always had a really weird relationship with money," she shared. "I've always been really anxious about it, even as a kid."
This anxiety manifested in peculiar ways during her youth. "I used to save all my money and then I'd get really anxious about having it, so I'd spend it all really quickly on rubbish," she confessed.
From Pop Stardom to Financial Reality
The mother-of-two enjoyed tremendous success with The Saturdays between 2007 and 2014, but the transition to television brought new financial challenges.
Her husband, former footballer Wayne Bridge, has been instrumental in helping her develop healthier financial habits. "Wayne's really good with money," Frankie acknowledged, explaining that he's helped her understand the importance of saving and financial planning.
The Turning Point
Frankie's financial wake-up call came when she realised she had nothing to show for her Loose Women earnings. This moment of clarity prompted her to take control of her finances and develop better money management skills.
"I'm much better with money now," she assured listeners, though she admitted the anxiety still lingers. Her journey serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of financial literacy, even for high-earning celebrities.
