Princess Eugenie paid a gushing Father's Day tribute to her husband Jack Brooksbank on social media, but notably omitted any mention of her own father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The 35-year-old princess, who is pregnant with her third child, shared several never-before-seen photographs of Jack with their two sons, August, five, and three-year-old Ernest.
Father's Day Tribute on Instagram
In a series of Instagram posts, Eugenie showcased Jack's parenting moments. One image captures the 40-year-old walking hand-in-hand with both boys down a street. Another shows him sitting on the floor between church pews at what appears to be a wedding, using toys and football stickers to keep one of the children entertained. Eugenie captioned the post: “Happy Father’s Day to the best there is.. chief child entertainer for besties' wedding too. The boys couldn’t ask for a better Dada.”
Absence of Her Father
Despite the heartfelt message to her husband, Eugenie did not refer to her own father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has faced public disgrace. The Duke of York was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and was stripped of all his royal titles in October. Eugenie has not been publicly seen with her father since the Epstein files revealed the extent of his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Third Child Announcement
Eugenie announced her third pregnancy in May, with Buckingham Palace confirming the news. Her uncle, King Charles, was said to be “delighted.” The new baby, who will not hold an HRH title, will be 15th in line to the throne, pushing Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, to 16th. The child will also be the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the third born since her death in 2022. This will be the fifth grandchild for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, following the birth of Princess Beatrice’s daughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, in January 2025.
Other Royal Father's Day Posts
Eugenie was not the only royal to mark Father's Day. The official Royal Family account shared a photo of King Charles with his late father, Prince Philip, both in military uniform, with a message: “Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today.” A new picture of Prince William, who turned 44, with his daughter Princess Charlotte was also released, captioned: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L.” Meghan Markle paid tribute to Prince Harry with a photo of him hugging their children, Archie and Lilibet, writing: “They’re so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.” In the image, seven-year-old Archie wore a red and white England top with dark blue shorts, while five-year-old Lilibet held a soft toy giraffe. Meghan also shared the image on her stories with the words “Happy Father’s Day” and a white heart, ahead of England’s World Cup match against Ghana.
