A death certificate for 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez has confirmed she was not pregnant at the time of her death, contrary to online speculation. The document also indicates that the cause of death remains pending, pending toxicology results and further investigation.
The teenager's body was discovered in the front boot of a Tesla belonging to musician David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd. The 20-year-old singer has not been named a suspect and is said to be fully cooperating with the police inquiry.
Los Angeles Police Department Captain Scot M. Williams stated that the vehicle had been parked for several weeks before being towed, suggesting Rivas Hernandez had been dead for some time before her remains were found. He added that while someone placed her body in the car, criminal culpability beyond concealment has not been determined.
Rivas Hernandez's body was discovered the day after what would have been her 15th birthday. Her family has set up a GoFundMe page, describing her as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin and friend.
