Reality television star Dani Dyer has spoken candidly about her ongoing struggles with body confidence following the birth of her three children. In a revealing new interview, the 29-year-old mother opened up about the emotional and physical challenges she faced after her body changed through motherhood.
Honest Reflections on Post-Pregnancy Body Image
Appearing on the latest episode of Ellis Ranson's Talk In Wardrobe podcast, Dyer was asked how becoming a mother transformed her relationship with her own body. She responded with remarkable honesty about the difficult adjustment period many new mothers experience.
'The first year after becoming a mum, I used to torture myself and try and put my old jeans on,' Dyer confessed. 'In the end my mum was like "Dan just get rid of them". It is hard going through that phase because none of your clothes previously fit you.'
Finding Herself Again After Motherhood
The television personality, who first welcomed son Santiago in 2021 with former partner Sammy Kimmence before giving birth to twins Summer and Star with husband Jarrod Bowen in 2023, explained that the journey involves rediscovering personal style and identity.
'It is trying to find yourself again,' she continued. 'I think after you become a mum you drastically change and then you do have to find new looks.'
Advice for Other Mothers
Offering supportive words to fellow parents, Dyer acknowledged that confidence fluctuates for everyone, particularly women dealing with hormonal cycles and the physical transformations of motherhood.
'I think with confidence we do have our ups and downs, don't we?' she reflected. 'Especially as a woman, like we only really have a certain cycle of the month where we actually feel normal. We all struggle with confidence.'
Previous Pregnancy Loss Revealed
In a separate heartbreaking revelation from last year, Dyer disclosed that she suffered a miscarriage before conceiving her son Santiago. Speaking on Jamie Laing's In Great Company Podcast, she shared this deeply personal experience.
'Just before Santi, I got pregnant, and then that didn't work out,' Dyer explained. 'Because it didn't work out, I wanted a baby, so I wasn't careful. I was like I'm having a baby, and my mum and dad were fuming at the time.'
She added: 'Yeah, it was a miscarriage, but it was very early. When I got pregnant again, I had so many scans, I was there all the time.'
Reflections on Past Relationships
Dyer also spoke about Santiago's father, describing their relationship as challenging but ultimately transformative. 'The one [boyfriend] that was just hell. Before Love Island, he never wanted to settle down with me. He was a massive player,' she recalled.
Despite the difficulties, she expressed gratitude for the outcome: 'I don't regret anything... having Santi changed me as a person, so I'm so glad I had my Sant. I think I had to go through a tricky relationship to get my little boy and to change me as a person, to get to where I am now.'
Modern Family Dynamics
The television star emphasized maintaining civility with her ex-partner for their son's sake, while acknowledging the different family structure Santiago experiences compared to his younger twin sisters.
'We are very civil and I will always be very civil to him because that's Santi's dad,' Dyer stated. 'There is going to be times with Santi in school plays, and I would never want Santi to feel uncomfortable. He is never going to know his mum and dad being together.'
She added with maternal concern: 'I always feel guilty because when Jarrod walks through the door, the twins say "Daddy, daddy," and Santi doesn't have that.'
Current Family Life
Dani Dyer married West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen in May 2025 at the luxurious Langley Hotel in Iver, Buckinghamshire. The outdoor ceremony marked a new chapter for the television personality, who continues to navigate the complexities of blended family life while sharing her experiences to support other mothers facing similar challenges.
