Chuck Norris, the 86-year-old martial arts legend and star of Walker, Texas Ranger, has been hospitalised following a medical emergency at his home in Hawaii. The actor, who owns a $7 million property on Kauai's North Shore, is reported to be conscious and in “good spirits,” according to TMZ. No further details about the nature of the emergency have been released.
The Independent has contacted Norris’s representative for comment. The news comes just days after Norris celebrated his 86th birthday, sharing a video on social media of himself sparring with a boxing trainer. “I don’t age. I level up. I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young,” he wrote.
Norris, a former martial arts champion, rose to fame after starring opposite Bruce Lee in the 1972 film The Way of the Dragon. He later became a household name as the lead in the CBS action series Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired from 1993 to 2001.
Last December, Norris paid tribute to his first wife, Dianne Holechek, who died at the age of 84. The couple married in 1958 and divorced in 1989, but remained close friends. Norris is now married to model Gena O’Kelley, with whom he has twin children.
