Chrissy Teigen delivered a breathtaking red carpet moment on Sunday evening, gracing the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles for a romantic date night with her husband, the acclaimed musician John Legend. The 40-year-old model and television personality captivated onlookers as she arrived in a strapless ombre gown that shimmered under the lights, meticulously embroidered with an intricate pattern of glittering sequins.
A Dazzling Fashion Statement
Her stunning ensemble featured a dramatic train that flowed elegantly behind her, complemented by a daring thigh-high slit that accentuated her slender legs and defined waist. To complete the glamorous look, Chrissy accessorised with sparkling dangly diamond earrings, coordinating burgundy heels, and a matching clutch, creating a cohesive and striking appearance.
Beaming with joy, she cosied up to John Legend, 47, who looked equally dashing in a classic fitted tuxedo and black tie. The couple, who married in 2013 and are parents to four children, displayed clear affection throughout the evening, holding hands as they took their seats at the prestigious awards ceremony.
Celebrating Sobriety Milestones
This glamorous outing comes shortly after Chrissy publicly celebrated reaching 52 days of sobriety last week, marking a significant personal achievement following a relapse into regular drinking patterns last year. The TV personality initially embraced sobriety in December 2020, proudly reaching one year without alcohol in 2022.
When she first committed to sobriety, Chrissy explained that her decision stemmed from feeling embarrassed by her drinking habits and frustrated by memories clouded by alcohol. She reflected on missing important moments, including work commitments and family occasions, even joking about having limited recollection of past awards shows.
A Candid Reflection on Relapse
However, in May last year, she revealed that alcohol had gradually re-entered her life, eventually leading to morning drinking sessions. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Chrissy credited Summer House star Carl Radke, who shared his sobriety story on her Self-Conscious podcast, with helping transform her perspective.
She candidly described how her return to drinking began with intentions of mindfulness, wanting to enjoy a glass of wine on date nights or toast special occasions. "I wanted to be able to have a glass of wine on a date night with my husband. To be able to toast on birthdays. How lucky I am to have the life I have - I want to enjoy it!" she recalled.
Unfortunately, this mindset soon evolved into familiar patterns, with drinking times creeping earlier into the day. "When it got to 11am, I was like, oh f***, here we go again," she admitted, noting that while her drinking wasn't overtly messy, it left her feeling consistently unwell and restricted her daily life.
A Different Approach to Sobriety
Chrissy, mother to Luna, nine, Miles, seven, Esti, three, and Wren, two, emphasised that her current sobriety journey feels distinct from her first attempt. She observed that while her initial sobriety felt exciting and momentum-driven, this time carries less fanfare but greater determination.
"I think the biggest difference between now and the first time is that there’s no pomp around it," she penned. "The first time I put my foot down, it was EXCITING. The momentum was fun and kept me going on the right track."
Despite previous challenges, she remains steadfast in her commitment, asserting that she can navigate life's ups and downs without alcohol. "Turns out, without it, I can still be funny. Still be stupid. Still be wildly nervous. Anxious as a mother f*****. And I can get through it all without it," she declared.
