Charlotte Crosby's Fiancé Hospitalised with Blood Clots

Reality television personality Charlotte Crosby has disclosed that her fiancé, Jake Ankers, experienced a serious medical emergency this week, requiring urgent hospitalisation. The incident occurred during what was supposed to be a relaxing family getaway in Scotland.

Sudden Health Scare During Holiday

The 35-year-old Geordie Shore star had been enjoying a hotel break at Cameron House on Loch Lomond with Ankers and their two young daughters, three-year-old Alba and 13-month-old Pixi. Their tranquil holiday took a dramatic turn on Monday night when Ankers began suffering what Crosby described as "severe chest pains" accompanied by concerning numbness in his arms.

Emergency Response and Diagnosis

In a detailed Instagram post, Crosby recounted the "scary" twelve-hour ordeal that followed. She explained that Ankers' symptoms prompted them to call for an ambulance, which transported him to Vale of Leven Hospital for immediate evaluation. Medical professionals conducted thorough tests throughout the night and into the following morning.

Ankers later shared his own update, revealing that blood test results had identified the cause of his distress: blood clots. He received a blood-thinning injection at the hospital and was prescribed tablets to continue treatment after being discharged. The 35-year-old acknowledged that the health scare served as a "major wake-up call" regarding his busy schedule and overall health management.

Gratitude for Medical and Hotel Staff

Both Crosby and Ankers expressed profound appreciation for the medical teams and hotel staff who assisted them during the crisis. Crosby specifically thanked the paramedics, nurses, and doctors who provided "amazing" care throughout the ordeal. She also praised Cameron House staff for their exceptional support, noting they helped her manage the children and belongings while Ankers was hospitalised.

Ankers echoed these sentiments, describing the paramedics as "absolutely brilliant" and commending the hospital staff for their professionalism. He also acknowledged the hotel's efforts to ensure his comfort during recovery.

Recovery and Future Plans

In a subsequent update, Crosby confirmed they had returned home to England, where Ankers will undergo further scans as part of his ongoing treatment. She emphasised that "lots of rest is needed" for his recovery. Ankers announced he would be slowing down his work commitments temporarily to prioritise his health, asking colleagues and contacts for patience as he recuperates.

Career Developments for Crosby

This health scare comes shortly after Crosby revealed significant changes in her professional trajectory. Last month, the reality star announced she has decided not to continue her self-titled reality series with Paramount, choosing instead to pursue opportunities with other networks, particularly ITV.

Crosby explained that while she may eventually document her wedding in a future programme, she currently wants to "focus on doing some big shows" and explore new creative avenues. Her most recent reality offerings included Geordie Stories: Charlotte's New Baby in March 2025, followed by Geordie Stories: Charlotte Mam of Two in November of the same year, though the latter series concluded after just four episodes.

The television personality, who rose to fame on MTV's Geordie Shore in 2011, expressed excitement about "dipping my foot into some other opportunities" and creating space for "new and exciting" projects beyond the reality format that has dominated her career for over a decade.
