Charlie Sheen has made a series of stunning confessions in his new autobiography, including that he had sex with men for crack cocaine and consumed so much cocaine that a Mexican drug cartel refused to supply him. The 60-year-old actor's memoir, 'The Book of Sheen', details his decades-long battle with addiction and his outrageous behaviour.
Sheen writes that his male sexual partners were also on crack cocaine and that some later tried to blackmail him. He refers to these encounters as the 'other side of the menu' but does not identify any individuals. In a Netflix documentary accompanying the book, Sheen said it was 'f***ing liberating' to finally discuss his sexual experiences with men.
The actor also reveals that at his worst, he consumed two kilograms of cocaine in under three weeks, prompting his dealer to tell him the Sinaloa cartel believed he was reselling it. Instead of cutting back, Sheen found an additional supplier. Other disclosures include an incident where, drunk on four double whiskies, he persuaded pilots to let him take the controls of a passenger jet for 90 seconds while crossing the Atlantic.
Sheen, who announced in 2015 that he has HIV, insists he has been sober for nearly eight years and celibate for a decade. He says he spent most of his fifties apologising to people he hurt and is not trying to make excuses. The book recounts his first use of cannabis at age 11 and losing his virginity at 15 to a prostitute in Las Vegas, paid for with his father's credit card.
