Radio Star Carrie Bickmore Hospitalised for Vocal Cord Surgery

Carrie Bickmore, co-host of the Carrie & Tommy Show on Australia's Hit Network, has been hospitalised after stepping away from her radio duties due to severe vocal cord issues. The 45-year-old broadcaster shared a photo from her hospital bed on Instagram Stories on Tuesday night, hinting at an upcoming procedure to address the problem.

Earlier, Bickmore had tearfully explained to listeners that her vocal cords were 'in a very bad way' and that without immediate treatment, she risked permanent damage that could end her career. 'If I don't get it fixed now, they will be permanently damaged, which will be very unfortunate for my job,' she said on air.

Her co-host Tommy Little offered support, telling her, 'We just want you healthy and back to 100%, Carrie.' Bickmore expressed fear of letting down her audience and herself, but remains hopeful that the treatment will be non-permanent.

This health scare comes after Bickmore previously opened up about mental health struggles, sharing a crying photo last year to remind followers that 'we all have sad days.' Her candidness has drawn support from listeners, with one commenting, 'Thank you for sharing, it’s a reminder to always choose kindness.'
