Brooklyn Beckham Faces Backlash Over DoorDash Ad Appearing to Mock Parents
Brooklyn Beckham Under Fire for DoorDash Ad Mocking Parents

Brooklyn Beckham has faced renewed backlash after the full version of his controversial World Cup advertisement appeared to take another swipe at his family, with fans calling the campaign “distasteful.”

The 27-year-old unveiled the complete DoorDash commercial following England’s World Cup victory on Wednesday night, days after a teaser sparked accusations that he was “cashing in” on his estrangement from his parents, Sir David and Victoria Beckham.

In the advertisement, Brooklyn joked: “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It’s not like I don’t have tickets. Um… it’s because… it’s a long story.”

He is then seen handing a bag containing World Cup tickets to a DoorDash employee and says: “These can go to someone… else. Put them somewhere fun.”

Sharing the ad on Instagram, he wrote: “Asked @doordash to go drop my FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets for you guys… happy hunting.”

The full campaign prompted another wave of criticism, with followers accusing Brooklyn of making light of an ongoing family rift.

“For someone who claims his parents are ruling his life, you are definitely cashing in on your father’s hard work repeatedly,” one person wrote.

Others urged him to stop using the Beckham name altogether if he wanted to distance himself from his family.

“Very distasteful. If you’re so against your family and your parents, remove the last name Beckham!” one follower commented.

A fan remarked: “When you become a parent, then you will understand the pain.”

Another questioned the thinking behind the campaign, writing: “Who approved this creative? This is such a miss. You can’t complain about your name when it suits you, but then benefit from it when it serves you. Bad form and bad taste.”

A further comment read: “I don’t normally comment but this is extreme. I understand he stands by his wife, which I respect, but this isn’t a joke anymore. I truly feel sorry for David and Victoria.”

The backlash comes after reports that Sir David and Victoria were left “inconsolable” by the advertisement.

In a previous teaser for the campaign, Beckham hinted that it is a “long story” as to why he is not at the World Cup in person.

The ads have sparked controversy, and his famous parents have reportedly been left “inconsolable” by the advert.

The hot sauce entrepreneur has been engaged in a long-running feud with his parents ever since his explosive claim in January that they have been “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.” He also alleged that his wife, Nicola, had been “disrespected” by his family.

He has not made a public appearance with his parents nor acknowledged them on social media since his statement, in which he also claimed his parents control narratives in the press about their family and put “Brand Beckham” first.

Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, in 2022.
