Bec Judd Opens Up About Cosmetic Procedures and Complications
Bec Judd, the well-known AFL WAG and influencer, has recently made candid confessions about the extensive cosmetic work she has undergone, marking a significant shift from her previous denials. During the latest episode of her Vain-ish podcast, the 43-year-old detailed her journey with dermal fillers and surgical interventions, revealing unexpected challenges and outcomes.
Lip Filler Journey and Lumpy Results
Bec Judd explained that her first experience with lip filler occurred "a long time ago" in her twenties, where she would typically get just a tiny amount. Over the years, gradual top-ups led to an unforeseen issue: her lips became lumpy, exacerbated by a natural asymmetry in her bottom lip. She described how the left side is larger and the right smaller, causing a visible lump during conversations or camera appearances.
This unevenness eventually prompted her to dissolve the filler and start anew. However, after letting her lips settle and attempting to rebuild volume conservatively, she discovered that the filler had migrated, creating cavities. Despite efforts to redistribute it, the product kept returning to the same areas, forcing her to use minimal amounts to avoid lumpiness. Now, she relies on makeup to enhance her lip appearance, stating, "Now I just overdraw my lips. My lips look so much bigger than they actually are."
Addressing Rumours and Eye Procedures
Bec Judd has long been the subject of plastic surgery rumours, which she addressed on her podcast. She quickly dismissed claims about having her nose done, asserting that her small nose is natural. Instead, she admitted to undergoing multiple eye procedures, including a fat transfer and both upper and lower blepharoplasty.
Her journey with eye treatments began around age 30 when she grew tired of dark circles under her eyes. Initially, she opted for filler injections to cover hollows, but over time, the filler migrated and absorbed fluid, leading to puffiness. Dissolving the filler only made the hollows more prominent, as it also affected natural tissue. This experience led her to express a dislike for fillers, noting the impact on her career as an influencer.
Subsequently, she underwent a lower blepharoplasty to remove excess fat and skin, but the hollows persisted. After extensive research and consultations, she proceeded with a fat transfer to smooth the area and an upper blepharoplasty to freshen her eyelids. Reflecting on the process, she said, "It's never going to be perfect but it looks so much better than it did before." She described it as a two-year journey that was costly but ultimately worthwhile.
Broader Implications and Personal Insights
Bec Judd's openness sheds light on the complexities and risks associated with cosmetic enhancements, particularly with fillers that can migrate and cause long-term issues. Her story emphasizes the importance of careful consideration and professional guidance in such procedures. By sharing her experiences, she aims to provide a realistic perspective for others considering similar treatments, highlighting both the benefits and potential drawbacks.
Her confessions on the Vain-ish podcast mark a turning point in her public persona, moving from denial to transparency. This shift not only addresses longstanding rumours but also contributes to broader conversations about beauty standards and the pressures faced by public figures in the entertainment and sports industries.
