Social media sensation Angry Ginge was thrown into the deep end during his first I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! eating challenge, confronting a dish of camel toe infused with cockroach smoke, all while hosts Ant and Dec cheekily remarked that he had 'changed'.
Revolting Restaurant Challenge Begins
The infamous Bushtucker Trial returned with a vengeance for the 2025 series, with comedian Ruby Wax, 72, and the 24-year-old streamer, real name Morgan Burtwistle, tasked with dining at the gruesome 'The Divey' restaurant. Announced in the launch show on 16th November, the trial promised to be a stomach-churning affair as the duo aimed to win stars and secure food for their hungry campmates.
Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly set the scene, revealing the grim opportunity to earn meals. Ginge's particular challenge was a serving of camel toe, which was presented with theatrical flair, complete with cockroach-infused smoke. Impressed by the presentation, Ant noted the extra detail as Ginge bravely picked up a knife and fork to begin.
'You've Changed Since You've Been On The Telly'
His somewhat refined approach did not go unnoticed by the presenting duo. Dec immediately quipped, 'you've changed since you've been on the telly', accusing him of being 'la-de-dah'. Ginge laughed along before the physical reality of the challenge hit him, with his stomach quickly turning.
Quick to offer comfort, fellow contestant Ruby Wax advised him, 'Just think of it as cheesecake.' As he struggled to eat the unusual dish, Ginge admitted, 'I can't quite describe how this feels and tastes,' to which Ant helpfully suggested, 'Like a camel toe?' Viewers were left in suspense to see if he managed to keep it down.
From Council Estate to Jungle Favourite
This wasn't Ginge's first success in the jungle. He had already proven his mettle by winning the initial challenge alongside rapper Aitch and TV personality Jack Osbourne. Their victory involved confronting offal, slime, and snakes to collect key fobs, which secured their place in a luxury car that transported them into camp.
Meanwhile, the other celebrities – Lisa Riley, Shona McGarty, Kelly Brook, Alex Scott and Martin Kemp – were left with a less appealing dinner of emu neck.
In a heartwarming revelation, Ginge's mum, Michelle, spoke of her pride. She revealed that her son, who is the bookies' favourite to win, had been preparing by watching old episodes of SAS: Who Dares Wins to mentally fortify himself. In a special birthday phone call allowed by producers, he told her he was 'absolutely buzzing' and thrilled by the new rule that ensures all celebs will face Bushtucker trials.
Ginge's journey to the jungle is a remarkable one. He is incredibly close to his mother, who raised him and his sister on a council estate in Salford, Greater Manchester, on just £12,500 a year. It was in his bedroom there that he first began live-streaming himself playing football video games under the username Angryginge13, eventually amassing over five million followers across social media.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
