Amy Childs on overwhelming twin birth and putting herself first

Reality TV favourite Amy Childs has bravely spoken out about the intense emotional and physical toll of welcoming newborn twins, revealing she has had to make her own mental wellbeing a priority.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 33, gave birth to her son and daughter just five months ago, but admits the journey has been far from easy. In a heartfelt and honest discussion, Amy confessed to feeling completely "overwhelmed" by the immense challenge of caring for two babies at once.

'You Feel Like You're Failing'

"It's the hardest thing I've ever done," Amy revealed. "You're trying to split yourself in two for two babies, and you feel like you're failing both of them. You're not failing, but it's that mum guilt, it's the worst thing ever."

This raw admission highlights the often unspoken pressure new mothers face, particularly those with multiple births. Amy's experience sheds a light on the critical need for postnatal support.

The Importance of Putting Yourself First

Amy's solution to navigating this challenging time has been a conscious effort to prioritise her own health. She firmly believes that self-care isn't selfish—it's essential.

"You have to put yourself first sometimes," she advised. "You have to have five minutes to yourself. Go and get your hair done, go and get your nails done, go for a walk... you need it for your mental health."

Her powerful message serves as an important reminder that a mother's wellbeing is the foundation of a happy family, encouraging others to ditch the guilt and take a moment for themselves.
