This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has publicly revived her long-running feud with Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder, branding her former I'm A Celebrity campmate 'very rude' during a television appearance.
The Brummie star made the comments on ITV's I'm A Celebrity Unpacked following the launch episode of the new series, where she recalled their difficult first meeting back in 2010.
How The Feud Began
The pair's animosity dates back to their time together in the jungle fifteen years ago. Hammond remembered her energetic entrance to the camp, telling the Unpacked audience: 'When I went in there, I'll never forget, I walked in and said "The party's here!" with my Terry's Chocolate Orange and everyone was like [unbothered face].'
She didn't hold back in her assessment of Ryder's immediate reaction, stating bluntly: 'Then, Shaun Ryder hated my guts straight away. He was very rude!'
Ryder's frustration was captured at the time in the Bush Telegraph, where he was heard ranting: 'Oh more f**king people in the camp. And a loud person and a cheery person as well.'
In a particularly scathing comparison, the musician added: 'She's probably a really nice person, don't get me wrong. I like Alison. I like horse s**t in the country but I don't want it in my living room.'
Subsequent Clashes
Despite their initial conflict, both participants remained in the competition until the finale, with Ryder eventually finishing as runner-up to Stacey Solomon.
The feud resurfaced years later when they crossed paths on Dancing on Ice. Hammond didn't mince words during that encounter either, directly telling the musician: 'I never liked you. From the first minute I met you and spoke to you, I never liked you.'
Ryder later confirmed to the Daily Star that he was aware of Hammond's feelings, commenting: 'Ever since the jungle show, I knew Alison didn't like me. But fair enough, nobody has to like each other. It's not against the law.'
No Reconciliation In Sight
The Happy Mondays frontman has since expressed interest in participating in an I'm A Celebrity All Stars edition, but with one significant condition - Alison Hammond must not be involved.
He elaborated on his camp experience, noting: 'The hardest part was the long flight [and] I was most bothered about meeting a bunch of f***ing lovelies and spoilt motherf***ers - but I pretty much liked everybody.'
However, he made his position regarding Hammond perfectly clear, adding: 'I definitely wouldn't want to be reunited with Alison.'
During the recent Unpacked episode, fellow guest Leigh Francis attempted to defend Ryder's character, suggesting 'He's normally really lovely,' but Hammond remained unconvinced, demonstrating that this fifteen-year showbiz dispute shows no signs of resolution.
