I'm A Celeb's Adam Thomas Health Battle Amid David Haye Row

Adam Thomas, known for his role in 'Emmerdale', has been battling an autoimmune disease for years, causing him daily pain. The condition flared up during his time on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!', leading to a confrontation with boxer David Haye.

In scenes aired tonight, Haye was seen trying to force Thomas to take part in the Termite Terror challenge, despite Thomas feeling unwell and dehydrated. Haye dismissed Thomas's condition, saying, 'Dehydrated?! We've all got the same amount of water!' Fellow campmate Scarlett Moffatt intervened, telling Haye to stop.

Thomas previously revealed he has been in pain every day for two and a half years due to his autoimmune disease. He said, 'It's been tough. I'm not overexaggerating when I say this but literally within two and a half years, every day I've been in pain.' In 2024, he described the pain as 'pretty unbearable' and said he could 'barely walk'.

Thomas has tried various medications, including methotrexate, but stopped due to side effects. He started a new medication that takes 12 weeks to take effect, and has had steroid injections that lasted only a week. He is seeking further pain relief from hospital.

Arthritis, the condition Thomas suffers from, causes pain and inflammation in joints. An orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Tom Naylor, explained that arthritis can be 'very debilitating' and affect unexpected areas like the thumb, impacting daily activities. Treatments include lifestyle changes, physiotherapy, medication, and surgery, but there is no cure.
