Adam Peaty's family have reportedly given up hope of repairing the rift with the Olympic swimmer after Gordon Ramsay publicly supported him following his wedding to Holly Ramsay. The couple married last month amid claims that Peaty's parents, Caroline and Mark, were uninvited from the ceremony.
Tensions have deepened since the wedding, with relatives now believing reconciliation is unlikely. The latest blow came after Gordon Ramsay commented on a wedding video Peaty posted on Instagram, writing: 'Beautiful words @adamramsaypeaty.' A source close to Peaty's family told The Sun: 'It's been a really emotional time for them as a family. They're coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side. It's dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future.'
The feud first emerged when Caroline did not attend Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse. Peaty's aunt and other family members called him out on social media for uninviting his parents. His brother James was arrested in November over allegations of sending threatening messages during Peaty's stag do in Budapest; he was questioned and released.
Gordon Ramsay reportedly made a dig at Peaty's parents during his wedding speech, saying: 'Shame you don't have the same' after praising his own wife Tana. Peaty reportedly failed to mention his family in his own speech, instead calling his swim coach Mel Marshall 'like a mum.' Caroline previously told the Daily Mail: 'I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me; it's as if they have cut my heart out.'
