Dillan Millward, a 21-year-old drug dealer from Middlesbrough, has been sentenced to five years and 219 days in prison after discarding 44 wraps of crack cocaine while fleeing from plain-clothed police officers. The incident occurred on Saturday, 28th March, when officers spotted Millward dealing drugs on Egmont Road in central Middlesbrough.
Pursuit and Arrest
When confronted, Millward abandoned his bicycle and led officers on a brief chase to Marton Road, where he was apprehended near the Longlands Hotel. A subsequent search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of the crack cocaine, which had been discarded in a nearby garden. Cash and mobile phones were also seized from Millward during a search.
Court Proceedings
In April, Millward, of Virginia Gardens in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply. He appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday, 11th June, for sentencing, where he received a term of five years and 219 days.
