X Factor star Scarlett Lee has announced the birth of her first child, eight years after reaching the final of the iconic ITV singing competition.
Journey on The X Factor
Scarlett Lee first appeared on The X Factor in 2017. She made it to the intense six-chair challenge stage before being sent home by judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.
The Surrey native re-auditioned for The X Factor the following year. Singing an original song titled Survival, Scarlett quickly pivoted to singing Loren Allred's Never Enough after Simon stopped her moments into her performance.
Reaching the final
Making it past the six-chair challenge at the second attempt, Simon became her mentor and decided to send her through to the live shows after she wowed him at the houses phase of the competition.
Representing the girls' category in the final, she performed a duet of One More Sleep with Leona Lewis in a crowd-pleasing moment. Sadly, the Christmas duet with a former X Factor winner was not enough, with viewers crowning Dalton Harris as their champion.
Later career and personal news
Scarlett went on to release singles Love Shy and My Christmas Wish in 2022. In 2024, she tried her hand at another singing competition as she auditioned for season 22 of American Idol. Singing Clown by Emeli Sandé, judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie sent her through to the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sadly, Scarlett was sent home prior to the top 24, alongside fellow UK singer Michael Rice.
Scarlett and her husband Nathan, who she married in 2019 after being childhood sweethearts for years, announced in January that they were expecting their first child.
Baby boy born
Taking to Instagram on Friday (August 14), Scarlett shared that she has given birth to a baby boy. Sharing a heartwarming snap of their child, Scarlett revealed that they have named him Elias.
She captioned the post: “Here he is, Welcome to the world our dream boy Elias born on 12th of August 2026 at 11.05pm, weighing 6 pound 9.
“He was every 11:11 wish, every birthday candle I blew out, he was the main one I’d close my eyes and wish for, every shooting star I searched for, every coin I threw into a wishing well and most of all a prayer I prayed the most and I couldn’t be more happier that I have my son.
“I couldn’t have done it without my Elias or my mum. I’ve never been happier and I can’t wait for life as 3. Thank you for choosing me to be your mummy my boy I love you with all I have forever and always.”
The comments section of the post saw a host of Scarlett’s friends and fans rushing to congratulate both her and Nathan on their good news. @lynn126436 said: “Many Congratulations to you all, he is an absolute dream.
